Unbending Will, Wisdom, Mist, and Flickering Flame are the four new runewords for Diablo 2 Resurrected that have been revealed thus far.
We recently reported on Unbending Will, the first new runeword for Diablo 2 in 17 years. More details about the forthcoming v2.4 update for Diablo 2 Reawakened have emerged, with the leak of three additional runewords.
There are three further runewords that have been discovered, each with their own unique set of applications: "Flickering Flame" (Nef + Pul + Vex), "Wisdom" (Pul + Ith + Eld), and "Mist" (Cham + Shael + Gul +Thul + Ith). The first two runes are enough and can be used in certain contexts.
Nef + Pul + Vex = Flaming Flame
Despite being a helmet runeword, Flickering Flame is quite pricey, requiring the same Pul and Vex as the potent Heart of the Oak runeword that Hammerdins prefers. For casters, especially fire sorcerers or druids, this is a very expensive notion. As a fire equivalent of Nightwing's Veil, the combination of +3 fire abilities and -percent enemy fire resistances can be rather effective. In addition to aiding you against hydras during Trav and Mephisto runs, the resist fire aura will let you to use some of the other in-slot equipment you have been saving for fire resistance.
The word "wisdom" is a combination of the Hebrew letters for "power," "knowledge," and "cou
The next book, Wisdom, is more reasonably priced. The three D2R runes Pul, Ith, and Eld are required to cast this 3os helmet runeword. In addition to being cheap, the stats on this are intriguing for melee builds, especially bowazons. Despite having no skills, this character has some of the highest resistances to slowing for melee characters thanks to their percent piercing attack, bonus to attack rating, mana leech, and inability to be frozen.
Clouds of vapor (Cham + Shael + Gul + Thul + Ith).
Our final runeword is Mist, a rune for the bow that is both potent and pricey. Put in 5os bows (hydra bows, grand matron bows, matriarchal bows), mist provides massive powerhouse effects for raw damage. The focus aura it emits when equipped, along with the gigantic 300 percent + increased damage, +3 abilities, freezes target, and huge +40 all resistances, make this item stand out immediately. If you typically use Razortail for your bowazons, you can get another free in-slot item (a piercing attack) without having to upgrade.
We don't know when patch 2.4 will be released or if Blizzard has even confirmed the runewords, but it will bring a fresh ladder reset to account for the changes to runewords, skill balances, and monster balancing.
